Pet Village Brentwood proudly partners with Middle Tennessee Boxer Rescue to provide essential veterinary care for rescued boxers. We are dedicated to helping these deserving dogs find their forever homes.
Middle Tennessee Boxer Rescue is located in Brentwood, Tennessee - about ten miles south of Nashville. MTBR has been rescuing and placing boxers since approximately 1990.
Where do the dogs come from?
Most of the dogs come from pounds or shelters, some locally, and some from east and west Tennessee, southern Kentucky, and northern Alabama. Occasionally, there is an owner surrender, but most are strays whose owners cannot be found, and a few are rescued from abusive situations. Almost without exception, the dogs come into rescue through no fault of their own.
Once a boxer goes into the program, he or she stays with the organization or in a foster home until a forever home can be found. The well-being of every boxer in the program is prioritized. Occasionally, a dog may come to the rescue with severe medical conditions or behavioral challenges that cannot be safely or humanely addressed. In these difficult situations, the decision may be made to euthanize the dog. However, for the vast majority of boxers, the rescue strives to provide them with all the time they need to find their forever homes. The belief is that every dog deserves a chance at a loving and fulfilling life.
All dogs receive comprehensive veterinary care, including vaccinations, heartworm testing and treatment (when possible), and spay/neuter surgery. Prospective adopters are fully informed of any existing health conditions.
